A traditional swing set is mainly a typical a-frame unit that securely holds 3-5 swings, trapeze bars, and horse gliders. This allows the child to swing securely with other children alongside. Some newer swing sets have a tower at one side of the a-frame that has a look out deck with a ladder entry and a plastic slide exit. Some of the towers we offer get pretty elaborate with rock walls, rope climbs, gang planks, fire pole, monkey bars, and telescopes to check on the perimeter play area. Most of our swing sets have a canvas canopy covering the tower to allow for a shady retreat from the Summer sun.
A playground is usually a structure shaped like a boat, castle, airplane, monster truck, 4x4, or tractor. The structure shape allows more versatility of play due to it's inner compartments. The boat and castle playgrounds have an upper and lower deck. The lower deck can be a great hide out. Playgrounds also have slides and a-frame attachments that have the added feature of swings as part of the whole unit.
