We hope that's very helpful to you! Any questions, give a call to one of our locations!
The Frontier is built to code, and it's engineered to have doors and windows at the gable ends only. The construction is slightly different form our other sheds'. It meets and exceeds local town codes, but our other 8 shed styles would be considered upgrades in certain factors. There are some options that can be added to the Frontier but not as many as our other sheds. For example, a higher snow load may be added.
Some of our customers have referred to The Frontier as "Army Sheds". They do have an Army appearance, but you certainly don't have to be military to own one! One of the reasons people say this is because they are all uniform. That is because they come primed only, not painted. Once we've delivered it to you, you can paint it any color you desire, and we do sell paint if you need it.
The Frontier is manufactured at our Sandy Creek location about 10 months out of the year. Since it's inception, it has grown in popularity making it one of our leading shed style sales. It is constructed with metal roofing and LP Smart Side Wood Siding which has a 50 yr warranty. Rest assured, this shed will be serving you for many years to come!

Autumn is also the time to come to an awareness that the toys you purchased during Summer don't seem to fit anywhere, and with Winter on Fall's heels, you need a trustworthy solution soon! Even if you are fortunate enough to have a garage, it may be full to the point where you have no room for your vehicle, or you may be able to put the vehicle in, but the stuff all around the vehicle, makes it an obstacle course trying to get in and out.
Fall's the right time to consider a shed.
A shed is not just a place to put your stuff, although that's the primary use for most of our Northern New York customers. When the garage is full, a shed can come in handy for much needed organization. It's a convenience place within the yard that lends easy access to your items and keeps the garage and home free from unnecessary clutter. Storage shelves, lofts, and utility racks can be installed to best organize the cluttered tools, also. Gardening supplies, lawn equipment, and mowing tools are best kept in a shed on the edge of your yard.
If you don’t have a garage, or need more space for a vehicle, special storage units like the one in the recent delivery photo above is best used to store away a vehicle. The wooden floor is specially designed and engineered to house and safely hold a full size car, truck, or sport utility vehicle. The side door can be a single or double door to gain access in front of your vehicle to get to storage areas or that shop you always wanted. Windows, doors, and storage options inside the unit can be customized to meet your needs. Nine design styles are offered. This year, we started a custom shop to make any shed you can come up with. Multitudes of options are available for siding, roofing, and other materials to give you the tools to create your own unique combination.
This season “leaf” your house and visit North Country Storage Barns for your new shed or barn, so you can enjoy Winter, knowing that your things are safely secured away.

Stone Base Tips:
The stone base is optimal for the gazebo. The 3/4" - 1.5" crusher run gravel, or as gravel yards call it, #2 crusher run, is the best use for a shed or gazebo. A 6" minimum base of crusher run is prime for your gazebo or shed. First off, when rain drips from the roof onto the ground, it does not splash up dirt and grime. The crusher run tends to pack and create a solid base. This is much better and highly recommended over a concrete pad. A concrete pad will cost a lot more and will end up cracking once water pools up under your structure and then freezes.
Secondly, the crushed stone base allows air to flow under your shed or gazebo and keep your structure dry and enjoyable for generations to come. For longevity, you will want air to be able to flow around and under your structure. This will keep the wood free from moisture preventing decay and deterioration over the years.
Take tips from this North Country Storage Barns customer and make your tranquil place as enjoyable as possible!
A traditional swing set is mainly a typical a-frame unit that securely holds 3-5 swings, trapeze bars, and horse gliders. This allows the child to swing securely with other children alongside. Some newer swing sets have a tower at one side of the a-frame that has a look out deck with a ladder entry and a plastic slide exit. Some of the towers we offer get pretty elaborate with rock walls, rope climbs, gang planks, fire pole, monkey bars, and telescopes to check on the perimeter play area. Most of our swing sets have a canvas canopy covering the tower to allow for a shady retreat from the Summer sun.
A playground is usually a structure shaped like a boat, castle, airplane, monster truck, 4x4, or tractor. The structure shape allows more versatility of play due to it's inner compartments. The boat and castle playgrounds have an upper and lower deck. The lower deck can be a great hide out. Playgrounds also have slides and a-frame attachments that have the added feature of swings as part of the whole unit.
